History

  • The Centre commenced operation in 1986 as a purely voluntary service and was incorporated in 1987 when it received a small amount of funding.
  • The Centre initially was located in the Civic Centre at Inala and moved twice, first in 1991 to another office in the same centre and secondly to a new demountable office building located in Wirraway Parade behind the Civic Centre. The building was donated by the Queensland Law Society and the land is leased from the Queensland Government Department of Housing.
